Pablo Diez will debut in 2023 at the Azores Rallye, “a race that, however, I know because I was on the island in 2020, the year in which the race was cancelled, helping at the beginning of Llarena’s participation in the ERC. I loved the special stages and I promised myself that one day I would come back to compete in them. The idea for this participation is to gain pace and enjoy the stages but there is a big list of drivers and it will be very difficult to be in the top places. Therefore, our objective is to finish in the top ten”.
The Spaniard, who will line up in the 57th Azores Rallye with a Skoda Fabia R5, is 43 years old and made his rallying debut late in life with a Citroën Saxo VTS. Between that car and the current Skoda, which he drives since 2021, he also drove a Peugeot 208 R2. The Azorean race marks his second internationalization. This season he has already started three rallies, Lloret del Mar, Master de Galicia and Sierra Morena, an event in the Tour European Rally Series in which he collected points for sixth place.
