Martins Sesks returns to the Azores Rallye, “a race to which it is a great pleasure to return as I have already been here in 2018, with an Opel, on my way to the ERC junior title. Now we are in a much faster Rally2 Kit with which we are fighting to get among the fastest cars at absolute level.I feel no particular pressure for this goal as the best way to be fast on São Miguel is to do your homework before the event and keep cool on the very tricky Azorean roads. I love being able to be here!”
Latvian Martins Sesks is currently 22 years old and only made his rally debut in 2016 with a Peugeot 208 R2. He stayed with that car in 2017 and the following year he crewed an Opel Adam R2. He was junior champion in his home country in 2016 and 2018, a year in which he won a similar title in ERC Junior. A Skoda Fabia R5 was the machine used successfully in 2019. In the last two seasons he has driven a Ford Fiesta Rally4 and in 2022 he is aboard a Skoda Fabia R4.
