The TER Series, an international competition with FIA stamp, in which the Azores Rallye is included, started this weekend with the Rally Terra Valle del Tevere, an event held in Sansepolcro, near Arezzo and in the centre of Italy. The start of the season served as a pretext to a meeting of all the organising clubs of this series.
Grupo Desportivo Comercial was present at the occasion, establishing contacts for the next edition of the Azores Ralye as well as promoting the Azores as a tourist destination, since the Tour European Series has this also as one of its missions. Important synergies were created between the organizers with a view to an even greater individual and overall promotion of the competition and the scenarios in which it develops.
In sportive terms, the winner was the Italian Andrea Crugnola, driving a Citroën C3 Rally2, a driver that shall compete in an important part of the calendar of this competition, followed, at 0.3 seconds, by the Slovenian Bostjan Avbelj, driving a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, and by another Italian, Francesco Fanari, at 7.3 seconds, also in a Skoda. All these competitors that climbed the podium were in the lead of the event. In the TER 2WD the victory went to Fabio Farina with a Peugeot 208 Rally4.
The TER series returns to the road between 17 and 19 March in Spain, for the contest of Rllye Sierra Morena, this time on asphalt and on the outskirts of Cordoba, in the south of the country.
