The 2017 edition of Azores Airlines Rallye counts also with an eight competitors’ entry list, which participation counts exclusively for the Azorean Rally Championship.
The mainland based teams of Luís Mota/Fábio Ribeiro (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) and Alexandre Ramos/Sandra Ramos (Peugeot 106) open and close the specific competition entry list which counts with the presence of Azoreans João Faria/José Olas (Peugeot 206 RC), Carlos Andrade/Tomás Pires (Renault Clio R3), Marco Soares/Tomás Vutlão (Citroen Saxo Cup), Ruben Santos/Énio Santos (Peugeot 106 XSI), Adriano Medeiros/Paulo Leal (Renault Clio RS2000) and João Torres/João Reis (Toyota RAV4).
In terms of championships, classes and groups, there are four pilots who drive cars still holding homologation, at least in Portugal, with all others driving vehicles without homologation. The classes RC2N, RC4 and RC3, as well as the 2 and 3 in the VSH have representatives. By groups, the competitors are divided into groups N4, N, R3, A and VSH 2RM and VSH 4RM.
