The programme for the next edition of the Azores Rallye, organized by Grupo Desportivo Comercial, which will be on the road on March 31st and April 1st, is now available. Due to its integration in the TER Series, Azores Rally Championship and Azores Gravel Rally Trophy, the structure of the event appears somewhat changed compared to the recent past.
Entries for the race are open since 1 March and will last until the 20th of the current month. Two days later, on March 22nd, the entry list will be revealed, which should gather names that guarantee a lot of animation in the discussion of the first positions. In the same week, on March 25, the reconnaissance will start for the special stages, the iconic ones of São Miguel which, however, will introduce some changes.
On Monday, March 27, the rally operational centre will be open and on the following day the tests will take place at Achadas das Furnas and Sanguinhal, for the competitors who register for them. On the same day, the service park will be open to some teams. On March 30, the initial administrative checks and scrutineering will take place at Centrovia in Ponta Delgada. On Thursday, the teams’ presentation ceremony will also take place in the host city centre.
The competition will start on Friday, March 31st, with the Qualifying and Shakedown, and the rally itself will start at 13:00. The end of the first leg is scheduled for 19:40. The second leg will take place on Saturday, April 1, between 08:00 and 18:45.
