Italian Simone Campedelli was born on 26 July 1986 and took his first steps in this sport in 2004 with a Citroën C2 VTS. Between 2005 and 2009 he drove several versions of the Mitsubishi Lancer, and also had some participation in cars like the Peugeot 206 WRC, Peugeot 307 WRC and Citroën C4 WRC. He was mostly with Citroën DS3 R3T from 2011 to 2013 and split between Ford Fiesta R5 and Ford Festa Rally2 until 2019. In the last two years he has used VW Polo GTi R5 and Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo with which he also faces the present season. In his country, he won the dirt trophy in 2007, was junior champion in 2011 and the best with two wheels in 2012.
