Absolute leader of the Azores Rallye, Ricardo Moura was also the winner of the opening event of the Campeonato dos Açores de Ralis (Azores Rally Championship), which was the first leg of this organization of Grupo Desportivo Comercial. The Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo driver finished with an advantage of 1:02.1 for the second classified, Rúben Rodrigues, driving a Citroën C3 Rally2. The lowest place on the podium was Luis Miguel Rego, in another Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, 2:35.1 behind the winner.
In the next positions were Pedro Câmara, fourth on board of a Citroën C3 Rally2, and Bruno Amaral in another participation with Ford Fiesta R5. Rui Torres and his Ford Escort Mk II won among the users of two-wheel-drive vehicles, more than four minutes ahead of Hélder Miranda in a Seat Ibiza. The Azores Rallye also marked the debut of the Power Stage, which was the second passage through Tronqueira, in the Azorean championship. In this stage that awarded bonus points, Ricardo Moura and Rúben Rodrigues made exactly the same time and, as such, received three extra points.
