The Norwegian delegation to the 57th Azores Rallye will be celebrating tonight at Portas do Mar. Currently on the podium of the Azorean rally, Andreas Mikkelsen and Ole Christian Veiby will be at a dinner promoted by consular entities of their country aboard the ship Sorlandet, which is docked in Ponta Delgada.
Also present will be Erik Veiby, Ole Christian’s father and manager of several drivers in the WRC, and Esapekka Lappi, whose career has been in charge of the Norwegian manager and who is on São Miguel as gravel driver to the driver in the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo with the number 6.
The Sorlandet is one of the best known tall ships in the world and was launched into the water in 1927. With a length of 64 metres, this ship has a gross tonnage of 577 tonnes, a height of 34.2 metres and a breadth of 9 metres. Its sail area allows it to reach a cruising speed of 14 knots.
