Pablo Diez will start the 57th edition of the Azores Rallye, organization of Grupo Desportivo Comercial, scheduled to take place in a little more than a week. The Spanish driver, who debuts in Azorean soil, will drive his usual Skoda Fabia R5. After the Lloret del Mar, Master de Galicia and Sierra Morena rallies, in which he was sixth for the TER Series accounts, the Azores Rallye will be his fourth race of 2023.
Aged 43, born in December 1979, Pablo Diez has a short career in rallying. He started with a Citroën Saxo VTS and, shortly afterwards, moved to a Peugeot 208 R2. Since 2021 he has been at the wheel of his current car, with which he sees his participations essentially in a playful way. The driver is involved in coaching and his car allowed the current European champion, Efren Llarena, to approach Skoda models for the first time, after a year in the Citroën C3 R5.
