SATA Rallye Açores’ promotion goes on full throttle with the inauguration of exhibition space on João Paulo II Airport, in Ponta Delgada on the island of São Miguel.
Once again counting with the precious support of ANA Airports and the Azorean Government, the event’s organizer decided, just like last year, to take the opportunity of welcoming all the ones that visit Azores from the four corners of the world and give them to know the place, the rally and the Azorean fans passion on motorsports.
The promotional space features a very special decorated Lancia Delta Integrale, an iconic rally car between all rally fans, that possesses a livery specially created by Mário Pereira, the Azorean that is one of the most prominent rally car livery designer, the same that designed Bernardo Sousa’s Fiesta RRC deco last year, who won the event. One of the most interesting details in this decoration is related to the fact that the bonnet of the Lancia Delta Integrale have the names of all the winners of the 50 editions of SATA Rallye Açores.
Francisco Coelho (President of SATA Rallye Açores), João Bettencourt (Azorean Government Tourism Director) and José Alves (João Paulo II Airport Director) were among those present at the official opening that occurred last week, recognizing the major importance for the Azores, the Azorean economy and the Azorean motorsport the presence of the event at the FIA European Rally Championship calendar.
The car and the promotional space will be active from now until the end of the rally which occurs between 4 to 6 June, on São Miguel island, and hosts round four of the FIA ERC promoted by Eurosport Events.
