As preparations are underway to carry on with the 55th edition of Azores Rallye, the Azorean round of the FIA European Rally Championship, the event’s Race Direction is promoting important meetings with its strategical partners in order to guarantee all conditions to realize the event by the third week of September.
Today was time to visit Povoação’s County Council, where its Mayor, Pedro Nuno Melo, and the County’s Culture and Education Councilman, Rui Fravica, received Azores Rallye Race Direction committee formed by António Medeiros, Clerk of the Course, André Ávila, Deputy of the Clerk of the Course – Chief Safety Officer, and Helena Prisca, the event’s Environmental Officer.
Since the iconic Tronqueira and Graminhais special stages are geographical located at Povoação’s County area, the main purpose of the meeting was to ask for Povoação’s County Council collaboration and support on installing waste selective collection points near spectators zones in order to maintain those areas properly cleaned and its environment preserved.
Following FIA’s directives on promoting a greener and environmental-preserving motorsport, Azores Rallye gives its contribution in close partnership with São Miguel island Counties, specially with those that hosts the event’s special stages.
