CHANGING THE TREND IN THE AZORES

Norbert Herczig will be “for the fourth time on the Azores Rallye and, until now, we have not been very lucky because only once w have reached the end of the race. This year that will change. I really like the stages and the atmosphere around the event. The spectators love this sport and it seems that they also understand a lot about it. For me, this Azores Rallye will be special as also my son, Patrik Herczig in a Renault Clio Rally5, will start his ERC campaign. Father and son together on the island!”
Hungarian Norbert Herczig is 46 years old but only started in rallying in 1997 with a Skoda Favorit 136L, a model he also used in 1998. In the following year he drove a Skoda Felicia Kit-Car. In 2002 and 2003 he drove, respectively, Citroën Saxo kit-Car and S1600. Hungarian champion on four occasions, 2009 and between 2015 and 2017, he maintains a regular presence in the ERC since 2018 with Skoda Fabia R5, VW Polo GTi R5 and Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo. He only missed his chance of finishing runner-up in the ERC last year in the final race.
