YOANN BONATO WINS RALLYE ANTIBES COTE D’AZUR

Yoann Bonato was the winner of the Rallye Antibes Cote d’Azur, fifth stage of the Tour European Rally Series, competition which includes the Azores Rallye. The race took place in the south of France, in 12 very characteristic tarmac special stages, many of them on roads carved out of cliffs. Bonato, driving a Citroën C3 Rally2, finished the rally 20.3 seconds ahead of the competition, but he had to fight with his team mate.
In second place, Hugo Margaillan, in another Citroën C3 Rally2, was in the lead until the penultimate special stage of the first of the two days of the competition, but then had to give way to the greater speed of the winner. Eric Camilli, in another Citroën C3 Rally2, won two stages and was third. However, the lowest place on the podium in the TER Series was held by Nicolas Ciamin, manning a VW Polo GTi R5, 1:15.7 behind the leader. Action returns to the TER Series in a fortnight’ time in Switzerland with the Rallye du Chablais.
